meet the band

Sid Vox

Lead Vocals / Hand Percussion

Sid “Vox” Sidewinder is the voice and frontman of TEC, a singer whose talent is nothing short of legendary and whose energy never quits. With a commanding, masterful voice, he rips through every song with feral power while filling the stage with nonstop movement, sky-high jumps, and magnetic presence.

Hailing from Neon City, Sid earned his chops as both a singer and a pro wrestler, perfecting a persona that dominates every spotlight. Every note hits with primal force, every moment bursts with intensity, and every show leaves the crowd on their feet. Sid “Vox” Sidewinder ignites the stage, driving the band and the audience forward with unstoppable force. 🎤💥

Ken Matson

Keyboards / BG Vocals

Our 80s O.G., Ken brings a wealth of experience on not only the keyboards, but running our technology and as our music director. Having performed with bands since the late 70s, he played many of these 80s classics when they first came out.

Originally from Atlanta, Ken has performed with multiple bands down south, the mountain west, and in Pennsylvania since the late 90s. He also owned and ran a professional, commercial recording studio during the 20-teens.

Putting together and performing with The Eighties Club has been a dream come true!

Robert Caldwell

Guitar/BG Vocals

Rob was born and raised in Philadelphia.  Along with his love of playing music he also enjoys travel and backpacking.  He’s played in many different kinds of bands from metal to folk, and from funky horn bands to tributes. He moved to northern Maryland in 2020 and joined The Eighties Club in late 2023.

A multi instrumentalist, Rob plays bass, guitar, piano, mandolin, violin, and mostly recently has fallen in love playing drums.

He's currently back to his original love, rhythm and lead guitar, in The Eighties Club and having the time of his life.

Viper

Bass Guitar / Key Bass / BG Vocals

"Viper" is TEC’s unequivocal “free spirit”... A human, who started playing BASS (only) as a teenager and has loved holding down the bottom ever since. Born on the ISS, but spending much of his youth in California. Viper spent many years in Hollywood, honing his craft. When he decided to, Viper returned to PA a better musician and ready to rock these 80s classics.

Playing many different genres/styles of music throughout the years, he prides himself on being a versatile bass player and truly professional musician. Viper has the skills to cover the breadth and depth of our set list on both bass guitar and also keyboard-bass for many of our new-wave and synth-pop/rock tunes.

Viper shines as an up front stage presence in The Eighties Club and keeps the band tight on stage and loose when off!

Scott Weyman

Drums / BG Vocals

Scott originally hails from Central PA (Lewistown). He grew up in a musical family and began formally studying percussion on his fourth birthday. He started playing professionally in high school with a variety of very experienced musicians in the State College and Harrisburg areas. After college, he toured and recorded internationally in bands ranging from hard rock and metal to prog, rock, dance, and funk.

Scott also developed a solid reputation as a composer, arranger, and clinician for world championship level drum and bugle corps and marching bands. He and his wife have raised their four children near her home in Southern Lancaster County PA where they both are long-tenured high school teachers.

Scott, a true “child of the 80’s”, joined The Eighties Club in March 2024 and is totally psyched to be bringing this great music and vibe to life with Ken, Sid, Calvin, and Robert!!!
